Armenian cognac does not arouse a smile - Pashinyan
Yerevan, 26 December 2022 (Lenta.ru)
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan commented on the reaction of Russians to his statement about Armenian cognac. Earlier, in an interview with a Kommersant journalist, Pashinyan said that Armenian cognac is not a joke. “When we talk about Armenian cognac, it is not a joke. Our cognac has been recognized in the world for decades, for which the whole society bears responsibility,” he noted.
According to the Telegram channel "Sputnik-Armenia", Pashinyan commented on his words, saying that "he was joking." “Those present at the interview laughed. I meant that when it comes to Armenian cognac, I stop laughing. I don't know if the journalist understood my joke, but this is how I explained my words to him,” the Armenian prime minister said.
Putin's meeting with Pashinyan
On December 26, at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg, Pashinyan said that the relations between the two countries had entered "a new level of strategic partnership." Russian President Vladimir Putin, in turn, called the Armenian leader's position on the development of Eurasian integration "very courageous."
Commenting on his meeting with Putin, Pashinyan expressed hope that the Russian-Armenian relations "will continue to develop dynamically in all areas." "The Russian Federation has always been and remains our most important strategic partner. We have reached a new qualitative level, a new quality of relations, and today's conversation confirmed our mutual readiness to continue improving them," Pashinyan emphasized.
