Latest press conference from Feyenoord manager
Feyenoord manager Arne Slot provided an update on squad options, the Brighton cup tie, and young players in his latest press conference.
Speaking to the media ahead of Feyenoord's clash with Brighton in the UEFA Europa Conference League, Slot confirmed that defender Gernot Trauner is a doubt for the game due to injury.
"We have no new injuries to report after the weekend's match," Slot said. "However, Trauner is still not 100% fit and we will have to assess him closer to the game to see if he is able to play."
Slot also discussed the importance of the Europa Conference League to Feyenoord, and admitted that he is keen to see how his team performs against Brighton.
"This is a big game for us," Slot said. "We want to do well in this competition and we believe that we can beat Brighton. We have a good team and we are confident that we can get a positive result."
Slot also praised the performances of Feyenoord's young players this season, and hinted that he could give some of them a chance to impress against Brighton.
"We have some very talented young players at Feyenoord," Slot said. "I am always looking for opportunities to give them a chance to play and I think this game could be a good opportunity for some of them to show what they can do."
Finally, Slot spoke about the importance of the fans' support and urged them to create a great atmosphere at De Kuip on Thursday night.
"We need our fans to be behind us on Thursday night," Slot said. "They can make a big difference and help us get the result that we want."
