Arsenal vs Brighton Preview: Steady as she goes

Arsenal head into this fixture in fine fettle having won four of their last five in the Premier League, their only defeat in that sequence coming at the hands of leaders Manchester City.

Brighton meanwhile, have picked up just one point from their last three games, so something has to give in this South Coast derby.

The Seagulls do have a good recent record against the Gunners though. They won this corresponding fixture 2-1 last season, and have lost just one of their last four meetings.

That said, Mikel Arteta’s men will be confident of extending their impressive home record against Brighton. They have won six of their last seven at the Emirates against their near neighbours and will fancy their chances of another victory.

Arteta is expected to make changes to the team that started the 3-1 win over Tottenham last weekend.

Gabriel Martinelli could come in for Leandro Trossard on the left wing, while Emile Smith Rowe is pushing for a start in midfield.
