Ashley Young Makes Honest Admission Over Everton Tactics As Fulham Regret Revealed
Ashley Young has admitted that Everton's tactics were not working against Fulham, as the Toffees slipped to a 2-0 defeat at Craven Cottage.
Young, who was making his first start for Everton since joining on loan from Inter Milan, said that the team were "not getting the ball into the right areas" and were "not creating enough chances."
Fulham took the lead in the first half through Ademola Lookman, and doubled their advantage in the second half through Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
The defeat leaves Everton in 16th place in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone.
Young said that the team need to "improve quickly" if they are to avoid being dragged into a relegation battle.
"We need to start winning games," he said. "We need to start creating more chances and scoring more goals.
"We're not doing that at the moment and we need to improve quickly."
Fulham manager Scott Parker was delighted with his team's performance.
"I thought we were excellent today," he said. "We were aggressive, we were on the front foot and we created a lot of chances.
"We deserved to win the game and I'm really pleased with the performance of my players."
The win moves Fulham up to 10th place in the Premier League.
Young's admission that Everton's tactics were not working is a major concern for the Toffees, who have now lost three of their last four Premier League games.
The team need to find a way to create more chances and score more goals, or they could be in danger of being dragged into a relegation battle.
Fulham, on the other hand, will be delighted with their performance against Everton.
The Cottagers were aggressive, on the front foot and created a lot of chances.
The win moves Fulham up to 10th place in the Premier League, and they will be hoping to continue their good form when they face Arsenal next weekend.
