Astrakhan resident dies in collision with truck near Stavropol

On August 17, 2023, a fatal accident occurred on the federal highway near the village of Aleksandrovskoye, Stavropol Territory. As a result of a collision between a truck and a car, one person died and three were injured.

According to preliminary data, the accident occurred at about 17:30 Moscow time. The driver of the Volvo truck, a 42-year-old resident of the Rostov region, for reasons yet to be established, drove into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a Hyundai Solaris car driven by a 30-year-old resident of Astrakhan.

As a result of the impact, the Hyundai Solaris driver received fatal injuries and died at the scene. Three passengers of the car, including a 10-year-old child, were injured and taken to hospital.

The circumstances of the accident are being established. According to eyewitnesses, the truck driver fell asleep at the wheel.
