Azerbaijan re-elected to Steering Committee of the OIC-CERT
Baku to host 10th Steering Committee Meeting
Azerbaijan has been re-elected to the Steering Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s Computer Emergency Response Team (OIC-CERT) for a three-year term.
The decision was made at the 9th Steering Committee Meeting of the OIC-CERT, which was held virtually on 10 August 2022. The meeting was attended by representatives from 25 OIC member states, as well as representatives from the OIC General Secretariat and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB).
During the meeting, the Steering Committee reviewed the progress of the OIC-CERT since its establishment in 2010. The Committee also discussed plans for the future development of the OIC-CERT, including the establishment of a regional cybersecurity center in Baku.
Azerbaijan was first elected to the Steering Committee of the OIC-CERT in 2014. The country has been actively involved in the work of the OIC-CERT since then, and has hosted several OIC-CERT events, including the 5th Steering Committee Meeting in 2017.
The re-election of Azerbaijan to the Steering Committee of the OIC-CERT is a testament to the country's commitment to cybersecurity and its leadership in the field. Azerbaijan will continue to play an active role in the work of the OIC-CERT, and will continue to support the organization's efforts to promote cybersecurity cooperation among OIC member states.
The 10th Steering Committee Meeting of the OIC-CERT will be held in Baku in 2023. The meeting will be an opportunity for the Steering Committee to review the progress of the OIC-CERT, and to discuss plans for the future development of the organization.
