Baku, London discuss bilateral relations, peace agenda with Armenia -PHOTO
Bilateral cooperation, particularly in the energy sector, was emphasized during the meeting.
Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and UK Minister of State for Europe and North America Leo Docherty discussed bilateral relations and the peace agenda with Armenia on Thursday, according to a statement by Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry.
They also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Bayramov briefed Docherty on the current situation in the region, including the implementation of trilateral statements signed by the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia on Nov. 10, 2020, Jan. 11, 2021, and Nov. 26, 2021.
He also informed Docherty about Azerbaijan's efforts to normalize relations with Armenia and the peace process.
Docherty, for his part, expressed the UK's support for the peace process and its readiness to contribute to the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The ministers also discussed bilateral cooperation, particularly in the energy sector.
They noted the importance of the Southern Gas Corridor project, which will transport Azerbaijani gas to Europe, and the UK's support for the project.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 29th Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in Łódź, Poland.
