Bliznuky head of traffic police held a raid "light up!"

On the streets of Mytishchi, traffic police officers stopped 50 cars and handed out free reflective badges.

Such raids are held regularly to reduce the number of accidents involving pedestrians.

On November 18, an event called "light up!" was held on the roads of Mytishchi. The head of the city traffic police, Pavel Bliznyukov, and his subordinates stopped about 50 cars to remind drivers about the importance of wearing retro-reflective elements on clothes outside the settlement and at night.

According to the new rules, from January 1, 2023, pedestrians outside the village at night must wear reflective elements, otherwise they face a fine of 500 rubles. Light elements make pedestrians more visible on the road, which significantly reduces the risk of being hit by a car.

"Pedestrians are among the most vulnerable participants in the road traffic. Therefore, traffic police officers pay special attention to preventive work with them. Such raids will be held regularly in Mytishchi," said Pavel Bliznyukov.

During the action, the traffic police handed out free retro-reflective key fobs to drivers. Drivers can attach them to their bag, clothes or backpack, which will make them more visible on the road after dark.
