D'Angelo Russell (back) available Wednesday
Timberwolves' Russell questionable to play Wednesday due to back soreness
Minnesota Timberwolves guard D'Angelo Russell is questionable to play Wednesday against the New York Knicks due to back soreness, the team announced Tuesday.
Russell missed the Timberwolves' 116-106 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday due to the injury, which he suffered in the first half of Saturday's 134-124 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The 27-year-old is averaging 18.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game this season.
Russell's absence would be a big blow to the Timberwolves, who are already without Karl-Anthony Towns (calf) and Rudy Gobert (ankle).
If Russell is unable to play, Jordan McLaughlin would likely start in his place.
The Timberwolves are 2-3 in their last five games and are currently seventh in the Western Conference standings.
