Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) said that NATO was "a relic of the past" and that the United States should focus on its own security interests.

The Biden administration has defended NATO's response to the Ukraine invasion, saying that the alliance has been unified in its support for Ukraine and that it has taken steps to strengthen its defenses.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the alliance was "more united and determined than ever" and that it was "taking all necessary measures to protect and defend all Allies."
