Green: ‘Don’t forget about Dray when talking Chet Holmgren, Victor Wembanyama’
Warriors forward believes he’s still one of the league’s elite defenders
Four-time NBA champion looking to prove he still has plenty left in the tank in 2022-23 season
Draymond Green believes he’s still one of the league’s elite defenders, and he’s looking to prove it in the 2022-23 season.
The Warriors forward made the comments in an interview with NBA.com, and he didn’t hold back when asked about his defensive prowess.
“I think I’m the best defensive player in the league,” Green said. “I don’t think there’s anybody that can guard as many positions as I can, and I don’t think there’s anybody that can impact the game on the defensive end as much as I can.”
Green’s comments come after a season in which he was named to the All-Defensive First Team for the fourth time in his career.
He also led the league in defensive win shares and was second in defensive rating.
Green’s defensive versatility is one of his greatest assets, and he’s able to guard all five positions on the floor.
He’s also a master at reading the game and anticipating what the offense is going to do, which allows him to make big plays on a regular basis.
Green’s comments are sure to fire up some debate, but there’s no doubt that he’s one of the best defenders in the league.
He’s a four-time NBA champion and has been a key part of the Warriors’ success in recent years.
If he can continue to play at a high level on the defensive end, the Warriors will be a tough team to beat in the 2022-23 season.
