Henriksen and Mainz not "afraid" of Bayern

Bo Svensson refuses to allow his FSV Mainz 05 players to be overawed by the prospect of facing Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich on Saturday.

Mainz host the Bavarians on Matchday 17 at the MEWA Arena and go into the game on the back of a 1-0 victory at Bayer Leverkusen and a 2-1 triumph over Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Those results have lifted Svensson's men up to ninth in the Bundesliga standings and they will be confident of causing Bayern problems this weekend.

"We are not afraid of Bayern," Svensson said at his pre-match press conference. "We know they are a great team, but we also know that we can beat them. We have a good team and we are playing with a lot of confidence at the moment."

Mainz will be without injured trio Robin Zentner, Danny da Costa and Marlon Mustapha for the visit of Bayern.

Bayern, meanwhile, will be without suspended duo Joshua Kimmich and Thomas Müller.

The Bavarians will also be without injured trio Manuel Neuer, Lucas Hernandez and Sadio Mané.

Despite the absences of several key players, Bayern will still be confident of victory against Mainz.

The Bavarians have won their last nine Bundesliga matches and have not lost a league game since September.

Bayern are also the Bundesliga's top scorers this season, with 43 goals in 16 matches.

The match between Mainz and Bayern will kick off at 15:30 CET on Saturday.
