Kia Unveils Challenger to Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux
South Korean automaker Kia has unveiled a new pickup truck that will compete with the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux.
The new Kia pickup truck is called the Mohave and is based on the same platform as the Kia Sorento SUV. It is expected to go on sale in Australia in 2024.
The Mohave is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine that produces 280 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque. It is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and has a four-wheel drive system.
The Mohave is available in two body styles: a double cab and a single cab. The double cab has four doors and seating for five, while the single cab has two doors and seating for two.
The Mohave is equipped with a range of features, including a touchscreen infotainment system, a reversing camera, and a lane departure warning system.
Kia is expected to price the Mohave from $45,000 to $60,000. This will make it more expensive than the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux, but Kia believes that the Mohave's superior features and performance will justify the higher price.
