Kyle Kuzma Injury: Wizards Forward Suffers Ankle Sprain, Sidelined Indefinitely

Washington Forward Injured in Hawks Loss

Kuzma Exits Early, Wizards Fall to Atlanta

Washington Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma suffered an ankle sprain in the team's 125-118 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night. Kuzma left the game in the third quarter after rolling his ankle on a drive to the basket. He did not return.

The Wizards announced after the game that Kuzma has an ankle sprain and will be re-evaluated in the coming days. No timetable has been set for his return.

Kuzma's injury is a significant blow to the Wizards, who are already without Bradley Beal (hamstring) and Kristaps Porzingis (knee). Kuzma is averaging 21.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game this season.

With Kuzma out, the Wizards will likely turn to Deni Avdija and Rui Hachimura to fill the void at forward. Avdija started in place of Kuzma on Friday and finished with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Hachimura came off the bench to score 14 points.

The Wizards are now 23-29 on the season and 10th in the Eastern Conference. They will host the Indiana Pacers on Sunday night.
