Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Cleared to play
Los Angeles Lakers point guard D'Angelo Russell has been cleared to play after missing the last two games with an ankle injury.
Russell suffered the injury in the Lakers' loss to the Denver Nuggets on November 15th. He is expected to make his return to the lineup on Friday night when the Lakers host the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Lakers have gone 1-1 in Russell's absence, with a win over the Sacramento Kings and a loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Russell is averaging 21.1 points, 6.3 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game this season. He is a key part of the Lakers' offense and his return will be a big boost for the team.
The Lakers are currently 10-9 on the season and are in sixth place in the Western Conference.
With Russell back in the lineup, the Lakers will be looking to make a push for a playoff spot.
