Lonzo Ball Sprains Wrist, Expected To Miss At Least 10 Days
Chicago Bulls Guard Suffers Injury in Preseason Game
Ball's Absence a Blow to Bulls' Already Thin Backcourt
Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball has been diagnosed with a sprained left wrist and is expected to miss at least 10 days, the team announced on Tuesday.
Ball suffered the injury in the Bulls' preseason game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday night. He collided with Pelicans guard Kira Lewis Jr. while driving to the basket in the second quarter.
Ball underwent an MRI on Tuesday, which revealed the sprain. He will be re-evaluated in 10 days.
The injury is a blow to the Bulls, who are already thin in the backcourt. Alex Caruso, another key guard, is also sidelined with a broken wrist.
Ball is averaging 13.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in two preseason games this season.
The Bulls will open the regular season on Wednesday, October 20, against the Miami Heat.
