Owen says Postecoglou has ‘only one way of playing

Former England striker Michael Owen has said that he thinks Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is “one-dimensional” but that he respects his approach.

Postecoglou has been praised for his attacking style of play since taking over at Celtic in the summer of 2021, but Owen believes that he is too predictable.

“I think he’s one-dimensional,” Owen said. “He only has one way of playing. He wants to play out from the back, he wants to press high, and he wants to play attacking football.

Postecoglou is a ‘very good coach’

However, Owen also said that he respects Postecoglou’s approach and believes that he is a “very good coach”.

“I think he’s a very good coach,” Owen said. “He’s got Celtic playing very well and they’re exciting to watch.

“I just think that he needs to be a bit more flexible. He needs to be able to change his style of play when necessary.

Postecoglou has been linked with a move to the Premier League, but he has said that he is happy at Celtic.
