Motta Demands Better from Juventus Ahead of Parma Clash
Juventus must improve their performances if they are to challenge for the Serie A title, according to coach Andrea Pirlo.
The Bianconeri have endured a difficult start to the season, winning just two of their opening five games. They were held to a 1-1 draw by Crotone on Sunday, a result that left them 10th in the table.
Pirlo was critical of his team's performance after the game, saying that they need to be more clinical in front of goal and more solid in defense.
"We need to improve our quality in the final third," said Pirlo. "We created a lot of chances against Crotone, but we didn't take them. We also need to be more solid in defense. We conceded a goal from a set-piece, which is something that we can't afford to do."
Juventus will be looking to return to winning ways when they host Parma on Wednesday.
However, Parma will be no pushovers. They have won two of their opening five games and currently sit eighth in the table.
Pirlo knows that his team will need to be at their best to beat Parma.
"Parma are a good team," said Pirlo. "They have some very good players, and they are well-organized. We will need to be at our best to beat them."
