It was a tale of two penalties at the Racecourse Ground as Wrexham overcame Altrincham 1-0 to move up to second in the National League. The Dragons were awarded a spot-kick just before half-time when Paul Mullin was brought down by Alty keeper Tony Thompson. Mullin stepped up and coolly slotted home his 13th goal of the season.

Wrexham started the game brightly and created a few early chances. The Dragons took the lead in the 39th minute when Mullin converted from the spot.
Altrincham had a good spell in the second half and came close to an equalizer when Josh Hancock's header hit the post. However, Wrexham held on to secure their sixth win in their last seven matches.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson was delighted with his team's performance. "I'm really pleased with the way we played today," he said. "We started the game well and created a few early chances. We took the lead in the 39th minute when Mullin converted from the spot. Altrincham came into the game more in the second half, but we defended well and held on to secure the win."
