Suspect Killed in Saraland Standoff Following Pursuit

A suspect was killed in a standoff with police in Saraland, Alabama, on Monday night following a pursuit that began in Mobile, authorities said.
The suspect, identified as 24-year-old John Doe, led police on a chase that ended in a mobile home park in Saraland. Police said Doe fired shots at officers during the pursuit, and they returned fire, striking him.
Doe was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No officers were injured in the incident.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is investigating the shooting. ALEA Secretary Hal Taylor said the investigation is ongoing and that no further information will be released at this time.
