Manchester United are reportedly drawing up plans to complete a £145million double swoop for in-form Serie A pair Marko Arnautovic and Adrien Rabiot.

United scouts watched the pair in action for Bologna and Juventus respectively over the weekend, and Ten Hag is believed to be impressed with what he saw.

Arnautovic, 33, has scored four goals in six Serie A games this season, while Rabiot, 27, has been a key player for Juventus in their midfield.

Ten Hag is keen to strengthen his squad before the transfer window closes on September 1, and he believes that Arnautovic and Rabiot would be valuable additions.

However, United will have to pay a hefty fee to land the pair, with Bologna valuing Arnautovic at £20m and Juventus holding out for £125m for Rabiot.

If United are able to pull off the double swoop, it would be a major statement of intent from the club.

Arnautovic is a proven goalscorer with experience at the highest level, while Rabiot is a versatile midfielder who can play in a variety of positions.
