Verstappen Defends Perez: "His Form Is Not Red Bull's Biggest Problem"
Max Verstappen has come to the defence of Sergio Perez, saying that the Mexican driver's recent form is not Red Bull's biggest problem.
Perez has struggled for form in recent weeks, with a number of high-profile mistakes. However, Verstappen believes that the team's issues are not down to Perez alone.
"His form is not the biggest problem," Verstappen said. "We have a lot of other things to focus on."
Verstappen's comments come after Perez crashed out of the Monaco Grand Prix, just a week after he had crashed out of the Spanish Grand Prix.
Despite his recent struggles, Perez remains a valuable member of the Red Bull team, and Verstappen is confident that he will return to form soon.
"He's a great driver," Verstappen said. "He's just going through a tough time at the moment. But I'm sure he'll come back stronger."
Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has also defended Perez, saying that the team is "fully behind" the Mexican driver.
"He's a great driver and he's had some bad luck recently," Horner said. "But we're confident that he'll bounce back."
It remains to be seen whether Perez can rediscover his form, but Verstappen's comments suggest that the team is still fully behind him.
