## Ashley Phillips Scores First Goal for Stoke with Clever Finish
Ashley Phillips scored a wonderful goal on his Stoke City debut against Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon. The winger, who joined the Potters on a free transfer from Blackburn Rovers in the summer, curled a stunning effort into the top corner from the edge of the box in the 20th minute, completing a remarkable comeback for Stoke who had fallen behind inside the first three minutes of the game.
Phillips was signed by Stoke to replace Tyrese Campbell in the starting XI, with the latter having left the club to join Burnley, and he is sure to have given manager Michael O'Neill a selection headache for the remainder of the season. The 27-year-old had a great chance to score his second goal of the game just before the break, but his effort from inside the six-yard box was kept out by Huddersfield goalkeeper Lee Nicholls.
Stoke's win over Huddersfield moved them up to ninth in the Championship table, just four points off the play-off places. It was the Potters' first victory at home in the league since March.
