Volgograd: Four Bus Routes to Change Due to Central Department Store Reconstruction
New Routes to Be Implemented Starting March 8th
The Central Department Store (TSUM) in Volgograd is undergoing a major reconstruction, which will necessitate changes to four bus routes in the city. The changes will take effect on March 8th, 2023, and will affect routes 2, 77, 21, and 85.
Affected Bus Routes
Route 2
Route 2 will be shortened and will no longer serve the section of Lenin Avenue between Krasnoznamenskaya Street and Sovetskaya Street. Buses will instead turn onto Sovetskaya Street from Krasnoznamenskaya Street and continue along its regular route.
Route 77
Route 77 will be rerouted to bypass the construction zone. Buses will travel along Mira Street, turn onto Sovetskaya Street, and then continue along its regular route.
Route 21
Route 21 will be extended to serve the new bus stop at the intersection of Sovetskaya Street and Lenin Avenue. Buses will continue along their regular route from this point.
Route 85
Route 85 will be rerouted to bypass the construction zone. Buses will travel along Mira Street, turn onto Krasnoznamenskaya Street, and then continue along its regular route.
Additional Information
Passengers are advised to plan their trips accordingly and allow for additional travel time. The changes to the bus routes are expected to be in place for the duration of the reconstruction project, which is scheduled to be completed in 2024.
