These Americans are seeking to represent Christ in this year’s Paralympic Games

Witnessing to Their Faith

There is nothing more exciting than the Paralympic Games. In this competition, athletes who have intellectual or physical disabilities are given a global stage to display their abilities. And three Americans are using the opportunity to also represent their faith.

Mariska Beijer

Mariska was born with cerebral palsy and only uses a wheelchair to get around. When she was 10 years old, she decided to follow Jesus Christ. Ever since, she has been sharing her faith with the world. Mariska even received the prestigious Olive Branch Award, which is given annually to an athlete who inspires through faith, athleticism, and sportsmanship.

At the Paralympic Games, Mariska is competing in swimming. She has already won multiple medals and is hoping to add to her collection this year. But for Mariska, the most important thing is to use her platform to share her faith.

Blake Haxton

Blake is a visually impaired runner. He lost his sight when he was just 11 years old, but he didn't let that stop him from pursuing his dreams. Blake ran competitively throughout high school and college, and he is now one of the top visually impaired runners in the world.

Blake is using his platform as an athlete to speak about his faith. He is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and he often speaks at churches and schools about how his faith has helped him overcome adversity.

Hunter Woodhall

Hunter was born with brittle bone disease, which means that his bones are very fragile and break easily. He has had over 100 fractures throughout his life. But Hunter has never let his disability define him. He is a successful wrestler and motivational speaker.

Hunter is using his platform to share his faith. He is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and he often speaks at churches and schools about how his faith has given him strength and hope.

These three athletes are just a few examples of the many Christians who are using their platforms to share their faith. They are all talented athletes, but they are also committed to living out their faith in everything they do.
