Wrexham Predicted to Sign Manchester United Academy Graduate Spotted in Training Kit
Former Red Devils Youth Player Set to Join Welsh Club
Deal Expected to Be Finalized Soon
Wrexham, the Welsh club owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, is reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Manchester United academy graduate Cameron Borthwick-Jackson.
The 25-year-old left-back was spotted in Wrexham's training kit earlier this week, fueling speculation that a move is imminent.
Borthwick-Jackson, who was once considered one of the brightest prospects in United's academy, has struggled to establish himself at Old Trafford. He has made just 14 senior appearances for the Red Devils, and has spent the past few seasons on loan at various clubs.
Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson is said to be a big admirer of Borthwick-Jackson, and believes he can be a valuable addition to his squad.
The signing of Borthwick-Jackson would be a major coup for Wrexham, who are currently 10th in the National League.
Borthwick-Jackson's Career
Borthwick-Jackson joined Manchester United's academy at the age of six, and quickly rose through the ranks.
He made his debut for the club's under-18s at the age of 15, and went on to captain the under-21s.
Borthwick-Jackson made his senior debut for United in the FA Cup in January 2016, and went on to make 14 appearances for the club in all competitions.
However, he suffered a serious knee injury in the summer of 2016, which kept him out for over a year.
Borthwick-Jackson has since struggled to regain his form, and has spent the past few seasons on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leeds United, Rochdale, and Scunthorpe United.
Wrexham's Ambitions
Wrexham are a club with a rich history, but they have fallen on hard times in recent years.
The club was relegated to the National League in 2016, and has struggled to regain its place in the Football League.
However, the arrival of Reynolds and McElhenney in 2020 has given the club a new lease of life.
The Hollywood stars have invested heavily in the club, and have set their sights on promotion to the Football League.
The signing of Borthwick-Jackson would be a significant step towards achieving that goal.
