LeBron James on Bronny's Cleveland Debut: 'I Don't Know if I Would've Made It'
Bronny James Makes Cleveland Debut in Front of Sold-Out Crowd
Bronny James, the eldest son of NBA legend LeBron James, made his highly anticipated home debut for the Cleveland Cavaliers' G League affiliate, the Canton Charge, on Saturday night.
The 20-year-old guard, who signed a two-way contract with the Cavs earlier this season, started and played 24 minutes in front of a sold-out crowd at the Wolstein Center.
James finished with 10 points, five rebounds, and four assists in the Charge's 113-106 loss to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
LeBron James Reacts to Bronny's Debut
After the game, LeBron James, who was in attendance, spoke about his son's performance.
"I'm just proud of him," James said. "He's worked hard to get to this point, and he's only going to get better."
When asked if he thought Bronny would be able to handle the pressure of playing in his hometown, James said, "I don't know if I would've made it. The expectations are so high, and he's just a kid. But he's handling it well."
Bronny's Future with the Cavaliers
Bronny James is expected to spend the rest of the season with the Charge, while also practicing with the Cavaliers.
It is unclear if he will be called up to the NBA team at any point this season, but he is considered to be a rising star with a bright future in the league.
